Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,959.94pts with a positive gap of 98.35pts but could not maintain its bullish rally even on hourly closing basis and start sliding in negative zone while a volatile session was witnessed later on because initially index posted a day high of 34,016.55pts with net change of 154.96pts but after facing rejection from its resistant region index slide downward and posted day low at 33,715.97pts with a net decline of -145.62pts. At the day end index missed it major supportive region of 33,800pts by just 2.49pts and closed at 33,797.51pts with net change of -64.08pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor reach a number of 225.09 million shares during current trading session and an increment of 89.45 million shares or 65.95% was witnessed on DoD basis while trading volume of companies listed in KSE100 index also surged by 43.91 or 48.16% to 135.1 million shares on DoD basis.
WTL, BOP and PIBTL lead the volume numbers on board with net trading volumes of 34.53, 22.57 and 10.63 million shares with price change of 9.91, 4.67 and -4.91 percent respectively. While PSEL, SRVI and MARI remained in top price gainers with a net price change of 48.69, 35.88 and 25.79 Rs/share respectively and COLG, SAPT and SFL remained in price losers with net price change of -90.24, -52.55 and -35.00 Rs./share.
PSEL, MARI and BOP were top index mover scripts and these have tried to push index in positive zone by 22.59, 15.10 and 11.03 points respectively but LUCK, OGDC and COLG remained top laggards and they dragged index by -15.21, -14.76 and -11.40 points respectivley.
Sector Performance
OMCs, Fertilizer and Insurance sectors succeeds have dragged index in negative zone by -18.73, -13.36 and -12.94 points respectively. While on the other side Miscellaneous, Pharmaceuticals and Power Generation sectors tried to add 22.59, 14.71 and 6.67 points in index during current trading session. During current trading session Technology, Cement and Banking sectors lead the volume numbers with trading volume of 43.65, 36.22 and 29.40 million shares respectively.
