Market Evening Wrap 2nd Apr. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 29,573.58pts with a gap of 68.01pts. Later on index posted a high of 30,842.00pts where a net change of 1,336.43pts was recorded.While a day low of 29,460.38pts with net chage of -45.19pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 30,782.66pts with net chage of 1,277.09pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 311.40 million shares with net change of 117.94 million shares or 60.96% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 226.57 million shares with net change of 69.49 million shares or 44.24%. HASCOL, KEL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 29.54, 20.59 and 19.04 and net price change of 8.49, 7.14 and 6.78 percent respectively.

Today, 343 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 282 out of these closed with net positive price change while 7 closed with no change but 54 companies closed with net negative price change. MARI, WYETH and ICI lead the price gainers with net price change of 71.29, 55.40 and 35.83 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, RMPL and PRET remained top three price losers with net price change of -90.00, -87.00 and -19.74 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 64.09, 37.42 and 33.52 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 315.53, 301.20 and 159.65 points, while on the other side CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND, MISCELLANEOUS and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -4.40, -3.45 and -0.90 points respectively.
