Market Evening Wrap 2nd Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,061.09pts with a gap of 5.80pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,508.74pts where a net change of 453.45pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,047.14pts with net change of -8.15pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,453.25pts with net change of 397.96pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 252.25 million shares with net change of -146.69 million shares or -36.77% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 89.31 million shares with net change of -67.22 million shares or -42.94%. WTL, HUMNL and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 16.85, 15.99 and 13.73 and net price change of 0.87, 6.70 and 3.17 percent respectively.

Today, 400 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 264 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 122 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, INDU and ATLH lead the price gainers with net price change of 43.54, 28.07 and 24.79 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side BATA, GATI and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -80.00, -36.01 and -30.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 61.88, 17.18 and 17.17 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CHEMICAL sectors have supported index by adding 65.88, 60.33 and 55.21 points, while on the other side Investment, PAPER & BOARD and REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -13.41, -4.06 and -3.32 points respectively.
