Market Evening Wrap 2nd Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,411.54pts with a gap of 163.09pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,642.72pts where a net change of 394.27pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,260.94pts with net change of 12.49pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,580.34pts with net change of 331.89pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 467.99 million shares with net change of -224.91 million shares or -32.46% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 266.31 million shares with net change of -109.38 million shares or -29.11%. HASCOL, KEL and PIBTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 43.96, 34.22 and 22.58 and net price change of -6.69, -0.66 and 0.00 percent respectively.

Today, 386 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 186 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 181 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, BATA and SUTM lead the price gainers with net price change of 90.50, 37.94 and 30.31 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPL, COLG and OTSU remained top three price losers with net price change of -37.17, -29.87 and -13.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 67.12, 63.44 and 60.81 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 103.91, 100.28 and 62.42 points, while on the other side ENGINEERING, REFINERY and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -12.97, -6.06 and -6.04 points respectively.
