Market Evening Wrap 2nd Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,634.79pts with a gap of 41.36pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,077.92pts where a net change of 484.49pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,535.87pts with net change of -57.56pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,964.27pts with net change of 370.84pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 399.16 million shares with net change of 30.84 million shares or 8.37% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 203.65 million shares with net change of 27.36 million shares or 15.52%. TRG, ANL and ASL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 38.34, 31.31 and 29.53 and net price change of 4.33, 4.61 and 7.02 percent respectively.

Today, 373 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 229 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 125 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, SUTM and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 95.87, 64.87 and 48.33 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, GATI and KHTC remained top three price losers with net price change of -49.60, -44.24 and -34.85 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, ENGINEERING and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 76.63, 41.67 and 40.89 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have supported index by adding 144.94, 68.16 and 63.71 points, while on the other side CEMENT, Investment and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -39.58, -14.58 and -4.24 points respectively.
