The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,481.40pts with a gap of 67.94pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,489.40pts where a net change of 75.94pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,874.64pts with net change of -538.82pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,903.06pts with net change of -510.40pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 544.41 million shares with net change of 7.85 million shares or 1.46% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 168.36 million shares with net change of 56.48 million shares or 50.48%. GGL, WTL and ANL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 57.97, 53.34 and 42.16 and net price change of 2.12, -1.69 and 0.12 percent respectively.

Today, 389 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 123 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 24 companies closed with no change but 242 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, RMPL and BUXL lead the price gainers with net price change of 1515.15, 249.00 and 21.91 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PMPK, WYETH and SAPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -55.00, -42.00 and -30.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 126.41, 65.42 and 45.26 million shares respectively. REFINERY, TOBACCO and CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND sectors have supported index by adding 24.22, 1.91 and 0.86 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and FERTILIZER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -163.35, -133.36 and -41.87 points respectively.
