Market Evening Wrap 2nd jul 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,864.27pts with a gap of 63.70pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,075.95pts where a net change of 275.38pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,637.76pts with net change of -162.81pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,686.18pts with net change of -114.39pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 563.09 million shares with net change of -196.72 million shares or -25.89% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 170.92 million shares with net change of 30.92 million shares or 22.09%. HASCOL, WTL and KOSM remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 49.54, 43.77 and 28.89 and net price change of -9.33, -0.98 and 11.13 percent respectively.

Today, 383 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 164 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 203 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, HINO and EXIDE lead the price gainers with net price change of 47.39, 45.42 and 33.54 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, WYETH and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -990.00, -25.43 and -15.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and TEXTILE SPINNING sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 123.43, 54.00 and 42.08 million shares respectively. PHARMACEUTICALS, FERTILIZER and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 13.23, 8.84 and 5.49 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -27.43, -21.93 and -21.49 points respectively.
