Market Evening Wrap 30th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,147.94pts with a gap of 11.41pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,468.14pts where a net change of 331.61pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,147.94pts with net change of 11.41pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,365.70pts with net change of 229.17pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 382.61 million shares with net change of 0.46 million shares or 0.12% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 147.18 million shares with net change of -34.58 million shares or -19.03%. BYCO, GGL and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 42.95, 29.89 and 26.78 and net price change of 6.25, -5.54 and 1.24 percent respectively.

Today, 384 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 204 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 28 companies closed with no change but 152 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, MUREB and NRL lead the price gainers with net price change of 225.00, 27.45 and 23.86 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, WYETH and NESTLE remained top three price losers with net price change of -44.69, -39.90 and -35.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 71.83, 51.47 and 36.73 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, REFINERY and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 74.43, 52.88 and 50.11 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TOBACCO and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -92.59, -3.60 and -1.96 points respectively.
