Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,894.81pts with a negative gap of -3.89pts during current trading session and moved straight towards its day low at 41,548.04pts with a net change of -350.66pts. Later on index entered into a volatile zone after getting support from a horizontal region and recovered towards its day high at 41,982.70pts where a net change of 84.00pts was recorded. But session closed again in an uncertain region at 41,903.51pts with net change of 4.81pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by 34.9 million shares or 17.7% on DoD basis to settle at 162.24 million shares today. While trading volume of KSE100 index listed companies also dropped by 18.72 million shares or 14.73% on DoD basis to settle at 108.39 million shares. BOP, AVN and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 17.97, 15.94 and 10.04 million shares and net price change of 1.74, 5.48 and -0.57 percent respectively.
Today, 340 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 186 companies out of these closed with a positive price change while 21 companies closed with no change but 133 companies closed with net negative price change. SAPT, BATA and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 45.10, 34.98 and 27.67 Rs/share. While on the other side COLG, RMPL and SFL remained top three price losers and these scripts have lost 143.00, 95.00 and 34.01 Rs/share from their prices today.
Sector Performance
Technology, Banks and Cement sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 32.26, 26.90 and 20.49 million shares respectively. Investment, Cement and Fertilizer sectors have supported index by 59.66, 28.28 and 16.80 points with accumulated average price change of 2.90, 0.64 and 0.10 percent. While on the other side Exploration, Power and Chemical sectors remained top index shakers and these have tried to drag index into negative zone by -56.49, -25.83 and -17.95 points with accumulated average price change of -1.02, 0.04 and -1.15 percent respectively.
