The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,117.39pts with a gap of -249.35pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,899.60pts where a net change of 532.86pts was recorded. While a day low of 43,972.09pts with net change of -394.65pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,899.60pts with net change of 532.86pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 372.39 million shares with net change of -96.21 million shares or -20.53% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 212.62 million shares with net change of 3.88 million shares or 1.86%. KEL, BYCO and ANL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 32.48, 29.77 and 20.83 and net price change of 20.85, 5.82 and 6.16 percent respectively.

Today, 381 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 242 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 13 companies closed with no change but 126 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, BATA and GATI lead the price gainers with net price change of 308.13, 109.84 and 33.07 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, PAKT and IDYM remained top three price losers with net price change of -113.89, -21.96 and -17.63 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 81.08, 37.67 and 32.82 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 143.39, 129.55 and 83.89 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, FERTILIZER and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -48.51, -15.24 and -10.71 points respectively.
