Market Evening Wrap 31st Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,153.02pts with a gap of 96.80pts. Later on index posted a high of 41,311.06pts where a net change of 254.84pts was recorded.While a day low of 41,016.56pts with net chage of -39.66pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 41,110.93pts with net chage of 54.71pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 451.73 million shares with net change of 213.17 million shares or 89.36% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 212.36 million shares with net change of 102.94 million shares or 94.08%. BIPL, TRG and POWERR1 remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 40.93, 40.10 and 32.04 and net price change of 11.01, -7.17 and -66.67 percent respectively.

Today,345 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 170 out of these closed with net positive price change. While 20 companies closed with no change but 155 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PAKT, NESTLE and COLG lead the price gainers with net price change of 99.00, 61.00 and 51.61 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SFL, SAPT and PMRS remained top three price losers with net price change of -65.75, -55.24 and -52.49 Pkr/share respectively.

Today COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 71.75, 60.85 and 49.42 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, CEMENT and TOBACCO sectors have supported index by adding 69.97, 49.20 and 27.86 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -60.53, -50.35 and -20.32 points respectively.
