Market Evening Wrap 31st Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,376.28pts with a gap of 10.58pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,596.04pts where a net change of 230.34pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,349.49pts with net change of -16.21pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,419.74pts with net change of 54.04pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 378.78 million shares with net change of -3.82 million shares or -1.00% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 128.81 million shares with net change of -18.37 million shares or -12.48%. TELE, GGL and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 41.62, 32.74 and 21.73 and net price change of 3.51, 7.32 and -1.00 percent respectively.

Today, 382 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 176 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 23 companies closed with no change but 183 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, BATA and MARI lead the price gainers with net price change of 249.00, 90.57 and 33.48 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PMPK, BTL and PSMC remained top three price losers with net price change of -72.39, -32.00 and -24.24 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 86.03, 38.39 and 31.35 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CABLE & ELECTRICAL GOODS sectors have supported index by adding 56.70, 20.12 and 13.34 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -19.72, -11.88 and -11.55 points respectively.
