Market Evening Wrap 31st Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,777.12pts with a gap of 286.09pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,133.25pts where a net change of 642.22pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,477.90pts with net change of -13.13pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,587.85pts with net change of 96.82pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 443.90 million shares with net change of 104.79 million shares or 30.90% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 253.23 million shares with net change of 77.83 million shares or 44.37%. BYCO, TRG and PRL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 74.03, 39.17 and 31.20 and net price change of -1.60, -3.10 and -1.32 percent respectively.

Today, 362 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 212 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 12 companies closed with no change but 138 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SRVI, PMPK and MUREB lead the price gainers with net price change of 78.18, 70.50 and 20.46 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, NETSOL and ATIL remained top three price losers with net price change of -16.95, -16.54 and -8.17 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 121.34, 74.40 and 29.16 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, COMMERCIAL BANKS and FERTILIZER sectors have supported index by adding 71.06, 40.50 and 28.87 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -26.49, -20.27 and -16.34 points respectively.
