Market Evening Wrap 31st May 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,404.13pts with a gap of 277.84pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,979.68pts where a net change of 853.39pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,401.41pts with net change of 275.12pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,896.34pts with net change of 770.05pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 1,412.14 million shares with net change of 452.30 million shares or 47.12% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 409.98 million shares with net change of 186.28 million shares or 83.28%. WTL, BYCO and SILK remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 480.61, 94.53 and 71.60 and net price change of 22.33, 4.55 and 3.80 percent respectively.

Today, 397 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 316 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 14 companies closed with no change but 67 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, RMPL and GATI lead the price gainers with net price change of 159.78, 100.00 and 33.48 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, SAPL and NETSOL remained top three price losers with net price change of -490.00, -16.49 and -7.35 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 613.82, 110.05 and 103.39 million shares respectively. CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 175.44, 92.15 and 83.38 points, while on the other side MISCELLANEOUS, SYNTHETIC & RAYON and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -1.42, -1.18 and -0.43 points respectively.
