Market Evening Wrap 3rd Dec. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,816.08pts with a positive gap of 335.32pts during current trading session and after posting its day high at 42,835.08pts with a net change of 354.32pts during first ten minutes index lost its momentum and started sliding downward. A volatile session was witnessed today and index moved downward in a zig zag formation and posted day low at 42,077.45pts with net change of -403.31pts. But before closing index tried to recover slightly and session suspended at 42,196.78pts with net change of -283.98pts. But later in during averaging mechanism index closed the day at 42,323.30pts with net change of -157.46pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor dropped again today and settled at 322.4 million shares with net change of -89.96 million shares or -21.82% on DoD basis. While volume figures of KSE100 listed companies also dropped by 55.15 million shares or 19.49% on DoD basis to settle at 227.78 million shares. TRG, UNITY and KEL lead the volume leaders with net trading volume of 23.76, 20.79 and 20.21 million shares with net price change of 3.66, -3.48 and -2.73 percent respectively.

Today, 338 companies participated in trading at PSX and 127 out of these closed with a net positive change, while 11 companies closed with no price change but 200 companies closed with a net negative price change. UPFL, RMPL and IDYM lead price gainers today with net price change of 300.00, 168.90 and 29.98 Rs/share. While on the other side NESTLE, SAPT and WYETH remained top price laggards with net price change of -75.00, -52.00 and -22.67 Rs/share.

Technology, Banks and Cement Sectors remained volume leaders with trading volume of 43.03, 34.54 and 33.20 million shares. Exploration, Technology and Ceramics sectors tried to push index in positive zone by adding 52.20, 10.23 and 7.00 points with accumulated average price change of 0.65, 1.22 and 3.84 percent in their respective companies but they could not succeed. While on the other side Fertilizer, Banks and Pharma sectors have dragged index in negative direction by -75.34, -48.89 and -21.63 points with accumulated average price change of -0.90, -0.21 and -1.62 percent.
