Market Evening Wrap 3rd Feb. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,354.56pts with a negative gap of -276.38pts during current trading session and moved towards its day low at 40,233.64pts where a net change of -1397.29pts was recorded. Overall bearish sentiment prevails during the day and index settled at 40,409.38pts below its another major supportive region with net change of -1221.55pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor inched up to settle at 203.14 million shares with net change of 9.27 million shares or 4.78% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also followed the trend and an increment of 9.77 million shares or 6.96% was recorded on DoD basis, while a total of 150.11 million shares were traded today in these companies. BOP, HASCOL and MLCF remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 23.53, 12.74 and 11.93 million shares and net price change of -2.65, -1.59 and -5.31 percent respectively.

Today, 342 Companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 45 out these closed with net positive price change, while 13 closed with no change and 284 companies closed with net negative price change. SAPT, SFL and WAHN lead the price gainers with net price change of 46.88, 39.96 and 7.98 Rs/share. While on the other side RMPL, COLG and UPFL remained top three price loser with net price change of -233.00, -147.41 and -88.00 Rs/share respectivley.

Banks, Cement and Technology sectors remained volume leading sectors at PSX with net trading volume of 40.75, 27.43 and 26.41 million shares. Banks, Exploration and Fertilizer sectors dragged index into negative direction by -352.95, -274.45 and -122.19 points with accumulated average price change of -2.44, -4.45 and -2.58 percent respectively.
