Market Evening Wrap 3rd Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,743.14pts with a gap of 162.80pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,123.82pts where a net change of 543.48pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,743.14pts with net change of 162.80pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,933.63pts with net change of 353.29pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 616.20 million shares with net change of 148.21 million shares or 31.67% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 324.70 million shares with net change of 58.39 million shares or 21.93%. KEL, PRL and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 59.32, 39.98 and 32.78 and net price change of 4.01, 5.64 and -3.31 percent respectively.

Today, 391 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 205 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 168 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MARI, IDYM and SUTM lead the price gainers with net price change of 98.91, 45.89 and 32.58 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side AKDCL, PMPK and PAKT remained top three price losers with net price change of -45.56, -38.06 and -37.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, CEMENT and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 74.27, 63.74 and 60.58 million shares respectively. CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 142.30, 102.31 and 58.21 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, GLASS & CERAMICS and TOBACCO sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -33.25, -25.44 and -13.39 points respectively.
