Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,533.61pts with a positive gap of 237.31pts during current trading session and moved towards its day high at 39,866.46pts in next half an hour where a net change of 570.16pts was recorded. Index faced a strong resistance at that level from a descending trend line and after generating a strong bearish formation index rolled back its positive sentiment and moved toward its day low at 39,057.53pts with net change of -238.77pts. While session suspended at 39,199.68pts where a net change of -96.62pts was recorded.
Trading volume numbers at PSX floor settled at 225.28 million shares with net change of 10.02 million shares or 4.66% on DOD basis. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also closed with a positive note at 175.62 million shares with net change of 17.72 million shares or 11.22% on DoD basis. MLCF, UNITY and HASCOL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 20.91, 20.50 and 19.16 million shares and net price change of 0.84, 2.84 and 6.97 percent respectively.
Today, 346 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 153 out of these closed with net positive price change while 19 companies closed in neutral zone but 174 companies closed with net negative price change. PAKT, SAPL and BTL lead the price gainers with net price change of 46.99, 45.36 and 20.12 Rs/share. While on the other side PMPK, UPFL and SFL lead the price losers with net price change of -169.96, -90.00 and -60.41 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, OMCs and Technology sectors remained volume lead sectors with net trading volume of 63.28, 26.45 and 22.74 million shares. Exploration, Technology and Banking sectors have tried to push index into positive zone by adding 38.86, 21.14 and 18.16 points with accumulated average price change of 0.66, 318 and -0.56 percent. While on the other side Fertilizer, Power and Auto sectors have dragged index into negative zone by -132.52, -47.43 and -16.71pts with accumulated average price change of -1.78, -0.58 and -1.83 percent.
