Market Evening Wrap 4th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,958.51pts with a gap of 86.90pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,330.71pts where a net change of 459.10pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,528.86pts with net chage of -342.75pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 39,577.62pts with net chage of -293.99pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 593.97 million shares with net change of 55.35 million shares or 10.28% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 377.25 million shares with net change of 38.47 million shares or 11.35%. TRG, POWER and PAEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 45.62, 42.78 and 41.72 and net price change of -6.19, 6.46 and -0.67 percent respectively.

Today, 365 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 105 out of these closed with net positive price change while 20 closed with no change but 241 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.SFL, SAPT and JLICL lead the price gainers with net price change of 54.00, 46.01 and 23.55 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side ILTM, NESTLE and GATI remained top three price losers with net price change of -81.03, -40.00 and -33.33 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 100.50, 64.87 and 57.72 million shares respectively. Investment, COMMERCIAL BANKS and LEATHER & TANNERIES sectors have supported index by adding 41.21, 35.85 and 4.61 points, while on the other side CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -91.53, -56.83 and -40.39 points respectively.
