Market Evening Wrap 4th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,828.40pts with a gap of 70.08pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,980.12pts where a net change of 221.80pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,709.38pts with net change of -48.94pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,789.88pts with net change of 31.56pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 532.91 million shares with net change of 89.78 million shares or 20.26% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 165.23 million shares with net change of 21.88 million shares or 15.27%. TELE, HASCOL and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 58.18, 49.79 and 45.70 and net price change of 4.75, 3.73 and 0.27 percent respectively.

Today, 399 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 179 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 198 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, COLG and SFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 171.46, 49.66 and 40.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side EXIDE, ABOT and FIMM remained top three price losers with net price change of -11.87, -10.00 and -9.75 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 165.04, 66.98 and 36.52 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and CHEMICAL sectors have supported index by adding 64.30, 17.98 and 14.32 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and REFINERY sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -26.25, -24.96 and -15.82 points respectively.
