Market Evening Wrap 4th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,260.53pts with a gap of 326.90pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,339.21pts where a net change of 405.58pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,746.58pts with net change of -187.05pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,905.79pts with net change of -27.84pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 440.24 million shares with net change of -175.96 million shares or -28.55% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 238.32 million shares with net change of -86.38 million shares or -26.60%. PRL, TRG and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 34.49, 30.38 and 19.25 and net price change of 0.97, -3.70 and -2.36 percent respectively.

Today, 384 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 146 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 216 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MARI, BATA and CPPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 115.04, 29.86 and 17.09 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PAKT, AKDCL and GATI remained top three price losers with net price change of -48.00, -42.14 and -35.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 69.59, 47.88 and 37.51 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and MISCELLANEOUS sectors have supported index by adding 130.14, 8.53 and 7.93 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, PHARMACEUTICALS and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -36.24, -30.28 and -21.26 points respectively.
