Market Evening Wrap 4th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,165.99pts with a gap of -994.79pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,807.96pts where a net change of -352.82pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,087.63pts with net change of -1,073.15pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,278.53pts with net change of -882.25pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 441.42 million shares with net change of 37.73 million shares or 9.35% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 215.94 million shares with net change of 17.00 million shares or 8.54%. KEL, GGL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 33.11, 28.67 and 25.83 and net price change of -4.12, 5.18 and -3.32 percent respectively.

Today, 360 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 46 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 9 companies closed with no change but 305 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SUTM, SAPT and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 74.97, 62.02 and 55.85 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, SRVI and LUCK remained top three price losers with net price change of -32.49, -25.46 and -22.21 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 80.27, 47.91 and 42.89 million shares respectively. CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and ENGINEERING sectors have supported index by adding 62.42, 29.16 and 28.56 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and INSURANCE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -5.11, -3.52 and -3.38 points respectively.
