Market Evening Wrap 4th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 34,020.51pts with a gap of -91.13pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,163.92pts where a net change of 52.28pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,709.34pts with net chage of -402.30pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,916.64pts with net chage of -195.00pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 216.45 million shares with net change of -75.27 million shares or -25.80% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 166.14 million shares with net change of -69.30 million shares or -29.43%. MLCF, HASCOL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 18.32, 13.61 and 12.17 and net price change of -2.63, -1.58 and 4.51 percent respectively.

Today, 323 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 144 out of those closed with net positive price change while 20 closed with no change but 159 companies closed with net negative price change. UPFL, COLG and SAPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 650.00, 162.05 and 52.57 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MARI, ATLH and JLICL remained top three price losers with net price change of -44.95, -22.00 and -20.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 43.50, 21.75 and 21.67 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, CHEMICAL and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have supported index by adding 21.70, 14.89 and 11.89 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, FERTILIZER and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -81.47, -46.04 and -45.30 points respectively.
