Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 34,426.96pts with a positive gap of 49.33pts during current trading session and momentum start getting strength after penetration above 34,700pts on intraday basis, this momentum continued till day end and session suspended at 35,259.51pts while later on average daily closing settled at 35,277.46pts with net trading volume of 207.78 million shares and net change of 899.85pts. During the day index posted a day high of 35,309.01pts with net change of 931.40pts or 2.64% while bulls dominated during the day and index succeeds in maintaining its day low at opening price. After three months index have succeeded in closing above its major resistant trend line on daily closing basis.
Total trading volume at PSX floor reached a number of 207.78 million shares during current trading session and an increment of 50.66 million shares or 32.25% on DoD basis have been noted, while an increment of 32.11 million shares have been noted in trading volume of KSE100 index's listed companies where volume strike the figure of 138.2 million shares with a change of 30.26% on DoD basis.
FCCL, HASCOL and BOP lead the volume numbers with net trading volume of 11.18, 9.4 and 8.78 million shares with price change of 1.59, 0.98 and 2.28 percent Rupees per share respectively. While on the other side COLG, MARI and SIEM remained top three price gainers with price gain of 78.49, 37.82 and 35.00 Rs. per share respectively. But ILTM, BTL and SRVI remained in top laggards and these scripts lost 91.73, 13.69 and 10.93 Rs. per share respectively.
MCB, HUBC and HBL remained in top index movers as these have pushed index by 82.76, 81.56 and 80.81 points in positive direction with a price change of 8.72, 3.69 and 5.09 Rupees per share respectively. But APL, GHGL and SCBPL remain in top index laggards as these have tried to drag index by -1.37, -1.28 and -1.21 points respectively.
Sector Performance
Banks, Fertilizer and Oil & Gas Exploration sectors have pushed index in positive direction by 286.36, 123.84 and 100.70 points respectively with an accumulative price change of 2.14, 2.17 and 2.27 percent respectively while on the other side Glass & Ceramics, Miscellaneous and Leather tanneries sectors have tried to drag in index in negative zone by -1.28, -1.22 and -0.99 points with accumulative price change of -0.76, -0.24 and -1.39 percent respectively. During current trading session Cements, Banks and Engineering sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with volume figures of 34.76, 20.70 and 18.59 million shares respectively.
