Market Evening Wrap 4th Oct 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,786.14pts with a gap of -85.56pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,105.04pts where a net change of 233.34pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,561.82pts with net change of -309.88pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,044.50pts with net change of 172.80pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 266.67 million shares with net change of -0.29 million shares or -0.11% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 94.36 million shares with net change of -16.98 million shares or -15.25%. TELE, WTL and SMBL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 25.66, 21.64 and 14.69 and net price change of 6.67, 5.40 and 13.08 percent respectively.

Today, 370 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 219 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 7 companies closed with no change but 144 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, COLG and WYETH lead the price gainers with net price change of 400.00, 100.01 and 47.50 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, BATA and BTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -78.75, -63.33 and -37.41 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 86.39, 30.61 and 17.49 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, PHARMACEUTICALS and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have supported index by adding 60.92, 42.22 and 23.03 points, while on the other side CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -35.75, -25.32 and -9.58 points respectively.
