Market Evening Wrap 4th Sep. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 42,134.53pts with a gap of -53.58pts. Later on index posted a high of 42,291.92pts where a net change of 103.81pts was recorded.While a day low of 41,923.68pts with net chage of -264.43pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 42,023.00pts with net chage of -165.11pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 758.08 million shares with net change of -161.37 million shares or -17.55% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 417.31 million shares with net change of -123.46 million shares or -22.83%. HASCOL, FFL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 73.16, 51.66 and 41.35 and net price change of 7.49, 7.48 and 2.54 percent respectively.

Today,354 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 150 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 15 companies closed with no change but 189 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, RMPL and COLG lead the price gainers with net price change of 367.00, 95.00 and 74.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, JDWS and MTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -75.00, -18.37 and -11.50 Pkr/share respectively.

Today OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 92.83, 86.80 and 82.35 million shares respectively. ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 21.28, 14.83 and 8.90 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -67.25, -59.55 and -32.70 points respectively.
