Market Evening Wrap 5th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,650.24pts with a gap of 72.62pts. Later on index posted a high of 39,940.22pts where a net change of 362.60pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,425.57pts with net chage of -152.05pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 39,882.78pts with net chage of 305.16pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 501.93 million shares with net change of -92.04 million shares or -15.50% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 296.17 million shares with net change of -81.08 million shares or -21.49%. MLCF, POWER and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 38.48, 37.48 and 34.58 and net price change of 6.96, 11.45 and 7.50 percent respectively.

Today, 347 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 209 out of these closed with net positive price change while 18 closed with no change but 120 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PMRS, SAPL and JLICL lead the price gainers with net price change of 35.46, 34.50 and 25.31 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side PAKT, NESTLE and BATA remained top three price losers with net price change of -48.99, -40.00 and -30.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 136.07, 62.91 and 41.92 million shares respectively. CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 172.46, 65.85 and 39.23 points, while on the other side FERTILIZER, TOBACCO and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -19.17, -13.88 and -11.86 points respectively.
