Market Evening Wrap 5th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,807.09pts with a gap of 17.21pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,896.39pts where a net change of 106.51pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,582.77pts with net change of -207.11pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,640.88pts with net change of -149.00pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 546.68 million shares with net change of 13.77 million shares or 2.58% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 207.13 million shares with net change of 41.90 million shares or 25.36%. PTC, TPL and TELE remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 62.14, 42.66 and 35.65 and net price change of 4.81, -3.82 and 1.62 percent respectively.

Today, 397 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 179 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 200 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. UPFL, SCL and GADT lead the price gainers with net price change of 99.50, 26.90 and 23.71 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, ICI and HINO remained top three price losers with net price change of -66.82, -20.86 and -10.82 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 191.03, 64.09 and 46.09 million shares respectively. AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and INSURANCE sectors have supported index by adding 10.68, 9.43 and 8.94 points, while on the other side MISCELLANEOUS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -35.98, -33.68 and -25.39 points respectively.
