Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,013.74pts with a positive gap of 107.34pts during current trading session and moved straight towards its day high at 39,742.50pts where a net change of 836.10pts was recorded. Index faced strong resistance from a descending trend line at that region and started sliding downward. Later on index moved towards 39,252.80pts before closing where a net change of 346.40pts was recorded. While session suspended at 39,382.11pts with net change of 475.71pts.
Trading volume at PSX witnessed a healthy recovery and settled at 340.72 million shares with net change of 153.74 million shares or 82.22% on DoD basis, while trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also followed the trend and settled at 241.81 million shares with net change of 93.7 million shares or 63.26% on DoD basis. FCCL, UNITY and PIBLT remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 29.96, 25.98 and 21.49 million shares and net price change of 6.75, -0.21 and 9.16 percent respectively.
Today 353 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 228 out of these closed with a net positive price change while 16 companies closed within neutral zone but 109 companies closed with net negative price change. RMPL, COLG and SAPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 273.00, 90.01 and 51.93 Pkr/share. While on the other side PMPPK, PSE and BHAT remained top three price losers with net price change of -100.05, -67-86 and -52.98 Pkr/share respectively.
Sector Performance
Cement, Technology and OMCs sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 99.03, 29.44 and 26.94 million shares. Banks, Miscellaneous and Tobacco sectors had tried to drag index into negative zone by -148.97, -33.00 and -6.85 points. While on the other side Cement, Fertilizer and Exploration sectors have pushed index into positive zone by adding 174.68, 103.24 and 82.68 points with accumulated average price change of 6.49, 1.54 and 1.41 percent respectively.
