Market Evening Wrap 5th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,389.11pts with a gap of 110.58pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,946.69pts where a net change of 668.16pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,168.21pts with net change of -110.32pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,837.35pts with net change of 558.82pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 317.23 million shares with net change of -124.19 million shares or -28.13% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 168.08 million shares with net change of -47.86 million shares or -22.16%. ANL, TRG and PRL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 29.25, 21.08 and 17.89 and net price change of 3.19, 2.17 and 2.03 percent respectively.

Today, 369 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 243 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 26 companies closed with no change but 100 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, SUTM and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 200.00, 73.01 and 60.04 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, SAPT and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -100.00, -79.65 and -63.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 55.05, 33.70 and 32.06 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 152.01, 144.73 and 68.41 points, while on the other side TOBACCO, TEXTILE WEAVING and SYNTHETIC & RAYON sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -8.28, 0.00 and 0.00 points respectively.
