Market Evening Wrap 5th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 34,253.44pts with a gap of 336.80pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,385.76pts where a net change of 469.12pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,857.83pts with net chage of -58.81pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,992.75pts with net chage of 76.11pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 261.31 million shares with net change of 44.87 million shares or 20.73% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 197.37 million shares with net change of 31.23 million shares or 18.79%. HASCOL, UNITY and FCCL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 33.81, 25.45 and 17.86 and net price change of 4.95, 6.31 and -0.41 percent respectively.

Today, 316 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 169 out of these closed with net positive price change while 29 closed with no change but 118 companies closed with net negative price change. UPFL, NESTLE and PMPK lead the price gainers with net price change of 727.00, 150.00 and 122.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, PRET and KOHC remained top three price losers with net price change of -174.21, -18.44 and -5.88 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 58.45, 38.75 and 26.96 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have supported index by adding 73.89, 49.37 and 16.00 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -44.20, -36.64 and -16.17 points respectively.
