Market Evening Wrap 5th Oct 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,096.86pts with a gap of 52.36pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,101.36pts where a net change of 56.86pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,593.75pts with net change of -450.75pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,666.57pts with net change of -377.93pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 334.15 million shares with net change of 67.47 million shares or 25.30% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 141.60 million shares with net change of 47.23 million shares or 50.05%. TELE, ANL and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 30.37, 19.56 and 18.57 and net price change of 3.96, -5.94 and 4.28 percent respectively.

Today, 389 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 155 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 13 companies closed with no change but 221 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MARI, PECO and COLG lead the price gainers with net price change of 116.79, 21.00 and 20.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side SAPT, GATI and KHTC remained top three price losers with net price change of -71.25, -35.00 and -29.37 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 84.52, 26.54 and 24.90 million shares respectively. MISCELLANEOUS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CHEMICAL sectors have supported index by adding 50.76, 29.21 and 12.94 points, while on the other side CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -153.62, -122.36 and -47.51 points respectively.
