Market Evening Wrap 5th jul 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,717.20pts with a gap of 31.02pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,739.50pts where a net change of 53.32pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,375.13pts with net change of -311.05pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,429.12pts with net change of -257.06pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 494.19 million shares with net change of -68.90 million shares or -12.24% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 201.86 million shares with net change of 30.94 million shares or 18.11%. WTL, HASCOL and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 55.64, 39.83 and 29.47 and net price change of -1.97, -11.86 and -1.47 percent respectively.

Today, 380 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 134 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 8 companies closed with no change but 238 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, EXIDE and AKDCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 56.00, 36.05 and 27.06 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, ISIL and MUREB remained top three price losers with net price change of -200.00, -33.00 and -19.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 106.57, 67.21 and 34.99 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, FERTILIZER and AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES sectors have supported index by adding 27.23, 2.23 and 1.38 points, while on the other side CEMENT, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -70.83, -21.86 and -20.75 points respectively.
