Market Evening Wrap 6th Apr. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 31,915.41pts with a gap of 293.62pts. Later on index posted a high of 31,915.41pts where a net change of 293.62pts was recorded.While a day low of 30,503.27pts with net chage of -1,118.52pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 30,579.15pts with net chage of -1,042.64pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 233.14 million shares with net change of -18.61 million shares or -7.39% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 181.22 million shares with net change of -5.27 million shares or -2.83%. MLCF, HASCOL and KEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 23.03, 20.14 and 17.01 and net price change of -7.50, 0.87 and -7.02 percent respectively.

Today, 313 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 49 out of these closed with net positive price change while 15 companies closed with no price change but 249 companies closed with net negative price change. PAKT, SFL and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 79.00, 38.69 and 31.20 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, SAPT and MARI remained top three price losers with net price change of -98.99, -63.30 and -55.98 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 71.61, 25.46 and 21.77 million shares respectively. TOBACCO, CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND and SUGAR & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have supported index by adding 17.29, 3.61 and 3.05 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, FERTILIZER and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -284.78, -125.63 and -100.75 points respectively.
