Market Evening Wrap 6th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,103.99pts with a gap of 221.21pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,422.83pts where a net change of 540.05pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,956.12pts with net chage of 73.34pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,166.12pts with net chage of 283.34pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 826.77 million shares with net change of 324.85 million shares or 64.72% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 335.06 million shares with net change of 38.89 million shares or 13.13%. WTL, POWER and MLCF remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 242.70, 45.26 and 38.45 and net price change of 41.58, 3.60 and 2.48 percent respectively.

Today, 359 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 205 out of these closed with net positive price change while 13 closed with no change but 141 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.RMPL, PAKT and NESTLE lead the price gainers with net price change of 350.00, 44.99 and 40.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side MEHT, ILTM and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -40.15, -31.33 and -30.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and ENGINEERING sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 303.12, 141.19 and 52.00 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 106.94, 44.15 and 42.13 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, MISCELLANEOUS and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -9.94, -2.16 and -1.72 points respectively.
