Market Evening Wrap 6th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,658.92pts with a gap of 18.04pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,752.77pts where a net change of 111.89pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,425.03pts with net change of -215.85pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,489.95pts with net change of -150.93pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 499.51 million shares with net change of -47.17 million shares or -8.63% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 137.07 million shares with net change of -70.06 million shares or -33.82%. PASL, UNITY and DSL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 67.53, 35.95 and 26.09 and net price change of 3.55, -5.79 and 2.80 percent respectively.

Today, 376 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 127 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 229 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. PMPK, MFFL and FIMM lead the price gainers with net price change of 44.98, 14.47 and 11.28 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, GATI and BTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -39.62, -37.50 and -34.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, Investment and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 85.37, 80.26 and 42.42 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, GLASS & CERAMICS and ENGINEERING sectors have supported index by adding 30.52, 19.55 and 10.78 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -54.40, -51.72 and -24.55 points respectively.
