Market Evening Wrap 6th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,864.71pts with a gap of 214.28pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,194.63pts where a net change of 544.20pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,860.00pts with net chage of 209.57pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,153.42pts with net change of 502.99pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 664.52 million shares with net change of 82.43 million shares or 14.16% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 373.17 million shares with net change of 90.89 million shares or 32.20%. BYCO, PRL and KAPCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 97.63, 87.25 and 31.11 and net price change of 11.38, 4.59 and 1.66 percent respectively.

Today, 376 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 203 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 155 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. IDYM, MTL and AKDCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 36.99, 21.83 and 17.26 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side TSML, SHEZ and SRVI remained top three price losers with net price change of -13.52, -12.00 and -10.82 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 192.17, 66.86 and 64.81 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 121.39, 115.03 and 69.07 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, LEATHER & TANNERIES and CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -13.72, -5.50 and -3.50 points respectively.
