Market Evening Wrap 6th Mar. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 39,157.33pts with a negative gap of -224.78pts during current trading session and posted day high immediately after opening at 39,186.12pts where a net change of -195.99pts was recorded. Later on index dropped drastically towards its day low at 38,122.96pts where a net change of -1,259.15pts was noted but before closing index recovered a little bit to close at 38,219.67pts with net change of -1,162.44pts

Trading volume at PSX floor dropped by 96.27 million shares or 28.25% on DoD basis to settle at 244.46 million shares. While on the other side trading volume of KSE100 listed companies settled at 198.57 million shares with net change of -43.25 million shares or -17.88% on DoD basis. MCLF, FCCL and PIOC remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 27.25, 25.87 and 22.31 million shares and net price change of -0.64, -2.24 and -1.12 percent respectively.

Today, 342 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 67 out of these closed with net positive price change while 24 companies closed with no change but 251 companies closed with net negative price change. NESTLE, COLG and PSEL lead the price gainers with net price change of 100.00, 59.99 and 53.50 Pkr/share. While on the other side PMPK, SFL and BHAT lead the price losers with net price change of -99.96, -61.59 and -61.02 Pkr/share respectively.

Cement, Banks and Technology sectors remained volume leading sectors at PSX with net trading volume of 115.53, 15.51 and 13.96 million shares respectively. Banks, Exploration and Fertilizer sectors dragged index into negative zone by -385.12, -238.65 and -205.06 points with accumulated average price change of -3.02, -3.32 and -2.04 percent respectively.
