Market Evening Wrap 6th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,987.91pts with a gap of -4.84pts. Later on index posted a high of 34,030.86pts where a net change of 38.11pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,675.49pts with net chage of -317.26pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,728.18pts with net chage of -264.57pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 208.85 million shares with net change of -52.47 million shares or -20.08% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 150.49 million shares with net change of -46.87 million shares or -23.75%. HASCOL, UNITY and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 23.80, 20.47 and 14.48 and net price change of 0.26, 0.71 and 4.16 percent respectively.

Today, 327 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 140 out of these closed with net positive price change while 30 companies closed with no change but 157 closed with net negative price change. UPFL, NESTLE and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 318.00, 165.86 and 59.50 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, BATA and SCL remained top three price losers with net price change of -49.00, -17.04 and -15.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 28.98, 28.27 and 24.12 million shares respectively. FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have supported index by adding 16.26, 13.81 and 9.81 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -93.30, -47.93 and -45.51 points respectively.
