Market Evening Wrap 6th May. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,113.19pts with a gap of 169.58pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,245.37pts where a net change of 301.76pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,889.59pts with net change of -54.02pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,174.67pts with net change of 231.06pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 245.64 million shares with net change of -14.23 million shares or -5.47% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 78.64 million shares with net change of -50.81 million shares or 39.25%. UNITY, TELE and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 42.39, 32.75 and 30.09 and net price change of 1.54, 5.63 and -2.96 percent respectively.

<pToday, 344 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 201 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 125 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. ILTM, SAPT and WYETH lead the price gainers with net price change of 149.99, 63.00 and 22.03 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side AKDCL, SHEZ and NRL remained top three price losers with net price change of -33.61, -13.90 and -12.97 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 89.15, 42.40 and 26.09 million shares respectively. POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 128.76, 58.22 and 50.95 points, while on the other side TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and REFINERY sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -45.39, -40.36 and -7.19 points respectively.
