Market Evening Wrap 6th Oct 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,662.04pts with a gap of -4.53pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,795.20pts where a net change of 128.63pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,284.55pts with net change of -382.02pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,373.23pts with net change of -293.34pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 252.71 million shares with net change of -81.43 million shares or -24.37% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 123.02 million shares with net change of -18.58 million shares or -13.12%. UNITY, TELE and WTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 25.72, 20.15 and 16.83 and net price change of 0.25, -6.77 and -4.95 percent respectively.

Today, 387 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 90 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 20 companies closed with no change but 277 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. MARI, GATI and COLG lead the price gainers with net price change of 68.61, 32.62 and 30.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, NATF and KHTC remained top three price losers with net price change of -48.37, -46.68 and -27.17 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 58.47, 25.72 and 21.39 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND and REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST sectors have supported index by adding 29.36, 2.81 and 1.31 points, while on the other side CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -110.15, -44.23 and -43.20 points respectively.
