Market Evening Wrap 7th Aug. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 40,254.82pts with a gap of 88.70pts. Later on index posted a high of 40,465.95pts where a net change of 299.83pts was recorded.While a day low of 39,971.11pts with net chage of -195.01pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 40,029.69pts with net chage of -136.43pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 728.74 million shares with net change of -98.04 million shares or -11.86% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 368.85 million shares with net change of 33.79 million shares or 10.09%. WTL, PIBTL and UNITY remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 144.41, 52.63 and 50.41 and net price change of 3.50, 7.04 and 8.17 percent respectively.

Today, 348 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 173 out of these closed with net positive price change while 17 closed with no change but 158 companies closed with net negative price change at day end.BATA, COLG and SRVI lead the price gainers with net price change of 108.67, 40.00 and 20.50 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, RMPL and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -575.00, -150.00 and -56.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and ENGINEERING sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 210.76, 75.30 and 60.60 million shares respectively. TEXTILE COMPOSITE, INSURANCE and TRANSPORT sectors have supported index by adding 19.35, 16.28 and 16.04 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -81.82, -42.83 and -39.30 points respectively.
