Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,515.10pts with a positive gap of 218.86pts during current trading session and moved upward till 41,84.37pts with net change of 547.13pts in next hour. At that region bulls lost their control and index slide downward to fill its opening gap. Index dropped towards 41,333.55pts where net change remained only 37.31 to post its day low, but from that region bulls once again took the driving seat and they pushed index towards its day high in a zig zag mode at 41,967.94pts with net change of 671.70pts. Later on session suspended at 41,904.47pts with net change of 608.23pts.
Trading volume at PSX floor dropped significantly today to settle at 206.46 million shares with net change of -60.17 million shares or -22.57% on DoD basis. While KSE100 listed companies also witnessed lack of volume and total trading volume settled at 142.18 million shares with net change of -57.83 million shares or -28.91% on DoD basis. HASCOL, KEL and STPL remained top three volume leader with net price change of -1.38, 0.66 and -6.45 percent and net trading volume of 19.03, 16.09 and 12.26 million shares respectively.
Today, 338 companies participated in trading and 231 out of these closed with net positive price change while 13 closed with no price change but 94 companies closed in negative zone at day end. COLG, BHAT and IDYM lead the price gainers with net price change of 80.05, 41.00 and 30.02 Rs/share. While on the other side RMPL, NESTLE and INDU remained top three price laggards with net price change of -254.91, -175.00 and -56.52 Rs/share respectively.
Sector Performance
OMCs, Technology and Cement sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 31.10, 21.90 and 20.92 million shares. Banks, Fertilizer and Cement sectors have played a vital role in moving index in positive direction by adding 205.08, 99.73 and 73.29 points with accumulated average price change of 1.27, 2.14 and 0.83 percent in their respective companies.
