Market Evening Wrap 7th Jan. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,315.80pts with a gap of 162.38pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,619.80pts where a net change of 466.38pts was recorded. While a day low of 45,182.07pts with net chage of 28.65pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,344.54pts with net change of 191.12pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 641.41 million shares with net change of -23.10 million shares or -3.48% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 394.72 million shares with net change of 21.55 million shares or 5.77%. BYCO, POWER and KAPCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 94.87, 34.20 and 32.19 and net price change of 0.20, 0.00 and 4.69 percent respectively.

Today, 377 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 152 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 16 companies closed with no change but 209 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. IDYM, AKDCL and MFFL lead the price gainers with net price change of 40.00, 18.56 and 16.23 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side ATLH, GLPL and WYETH remained top three price losers with net price change of -20.00, -16.81 and -16.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today REFINERY, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 126.42, 78.63 and 60.01 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, FERTILIZER and CHEMICAL sectors have supported index by adding 189.43, 99.80 and 11.89 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, CEMENT and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -49.89, -27.47 and -8.24 points respectively.
