Market Evening Wrap 7th Jun 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 48,511.54pts with a gap of 299.84pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,632.95pts where a net change of 421.25pts was recorded. While a day low of 48,217.31pts with net change of 5.61pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 48,302.66pts with net change of 90.96pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 936.07 million shares with net change of 68.80 million shares or 7.93% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 320.04 million shares with net change of 2.60 million shares or 0.82%. HUMNL, WTL and PTC remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 118.20, 80.74 and 64.77 and net price change of 9.32, -0.28 and 6.58 percent respectively.

Today, 396 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 210 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 21 companies closed with no change but 165 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. COLG, SIEM and SAPL lead the price gainers with net price change of 50.00, 44.02 and 34.26 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, AABS and AGTL remained top three price losers with net price change of -197.38, -29.99 and -20.89 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 345.32, 70.77 and 58.22 million shares respectively. FERTILIZER, GLASS & CERAMICS and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 21.68, 21.64 and 20.48 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and PHARMACEUTICALS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -20.20, -17.91 and -7.83 points respectively.
