Market Evening Wrap 7th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,636.43pts with a gap of -91.75pts. Later on index posted a high of 33,811.36pts where a net change of 83.18pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,238.88pts with net chage of -489.30pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,304.16pts with net chage of -424.02pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 175.89 million shares with net change of -32.95 million shares or -15.78% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 128.54 million shares with net change of -21.95 million shares or -14.59%. HASCOL, MLCF and DGKC remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 16.09, 12.56 and 8.19 and net price change of -4.85, -1.98 and -2.59 percent respectively.

Today, 306 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 76 out of these closed with net positive price change while 14 companies closed with no change but 216 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, SAPT and ATLH lead the price gainers with net price change of 95.00, 64.00 and 19.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, NESTLE and SAPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -785.00, -75.11 and -39.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 41.79, 19.10 and 18.92 million shares respectively. INSURANCE, PAPER & BOARD and TOBACCO sectors have supported index by adding 3.36, 2.79 and 2.39 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, CEMENT and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -119.15, -59.77 and -48.68 points respectively.
