Market Evening Wrap 8th Apr. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 31,205.63pts with a gap of -25.92pts. Later on index posted a high of 31,238.35pts where a net change of 6.80pts was recorded.While a day low of 30,775.45pts with net chage of -456.10pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 30,971.27pts with net chage of -260.28pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 180.71 million shares with net change of 8.15 million shares or 4.72% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 153.06 million shares with net change of 10.42 million shares or 7.31%. UNITY, HASCOL and PAEL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 28.77, 25.83 and 14.08 and net price change of 6.45, -0.34 and -6.69 percent respectively.

Today, 314 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 109 out of these closed with net positive price change while 26 closed with no change but 179 companies closed with net negative price change. BATA, IDYM and JLICL lead the price gainers with net price change of 45.00, 36.05 and 19.59 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side RMPL, PAKT and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -350.00, -131.17 and -50.44 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, VANASPATI & ALLIED INDUSTRIES and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 42.11, 28.77 and 28.44 million shares respectively. INSURANCE, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and TEXTILE COMPOSITE sectors have supported index by adding 30.74, 9.19 and 6.22 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES and CEMENT sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -97.00, -54.74 and -42.00 points respectively.
