Market Evening Wrap 8th April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,159.74pts with a gap of 206.16pts. Later on index posted a high of 44,759.37pts where a net change of 805.79pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,091.92pts with net change of 138.34pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,741.36pts with net change of 787.78pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 383.10 million shares with net change of 12.57 million shares or 3.39% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 186.04 million shares with net change of -9.11 million shares or -4.67%. GGL, TRG and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 35.91, 28.69 and 26.03 and net price change of 7.24, 7.49 and -0.71 percent respectively.

Today, 355 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 232 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 101 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. RMPL, BATA and MTL lead the price gainers with net price change of 350.00, 80.00 and 25.15 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side INDU, NESTLE and ABOT remained top three price losers with net price change of -13.18, -10.00 and -8.84 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 86.15, 66.23 and 53.31 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, CEMENT and TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION sectors have supported index by adding 151.84, 121.03 and 120.15 points, while on the other side POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION, CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND and MISCELLANEOUS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -41.36, -0.58 and -0.20 points respectively.
