Session Recap
The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,489.61pts with a negative gap of -414.86pts during current trading session and recovered towards its day high at 41,939.47pts where net change moved into positive zone but at that point index once again lost its bullish momentum and bears pushed it towards new day low at 41,173.95pts with net change of -730.52pts. While session suspended at 41,476.96pts with net change of -427.51pts, but later on in averaging mechanism index closed at 41,357.56pts with net change of -546.91pts.
Trading volume at PSX surged up by 35.24 percent or 72.91 million shares to settle at 279.81 million shares. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies spiked up aggressively to settle at 209.08 million shares with net change of 66.57 million shares or 46.71% on DoD basis. KEL, BOP and TRG remained top three volume leader with net price change of -2.84, 0.51 and -2.86 percent and volume figures of 39.36, 38.19 and 11.55 million shares.
Today, 332 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 48 out of these closed in positive zone while 13 companies closed with no price change but 271 companies closed with net negative price change. MARI, BHAT and BATA lead the price gainers with net price change of 64.09, 19.00 and 16.00 Rs/share. While on the other side INDU, SAPT and SAPL remained top three price losers and these have lost 53.85, 49.83 and 28.00 Rs/share today.
Sector Performance
Banks, Power and Cement sectors were top three volume leaders to with net trading volume of 54.92, 44.83 and 26.92 million shares. Banking, Auto and Power sectors have pushed index into negative zone by -127.02, -67.25 and -58.91 points with accumulated average price change of -0.42, 2.70 and -1.65 percent in their respective companies.
