Market Evening Wrap 8th Feb. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,013.02pts with a gap of 107.23pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,074.16pts where a net change of 168.37pts was recorded. While a day low of 46,659.24pts with net change of -246.55pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 46,721.87pts with net change of -183.92pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 428.33 million shares with net change of -11.91 million shares or -2.71% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 189.86 million shares with net change of -48.46 million shares or -20.33%. WTL, TELE and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 52.91, 35.63 and 33.18 and net price change of 7.89, 25.71 and 7.50 percent respectively.

Today, 367 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 142 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 19 companies closed with no change but 206 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BHAT, SAPT and GATI lead the price gainers with net price change of 61.95, 43.59 and 37.50 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, SRVI and NESTLE remained top three price losers with net price change of -86.56, -34.49 and -34.17 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 153.62, 33.53 and 28.76 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, ENGINEERING and REFINERY sectors have supported index by adding 96.76, 6.40 and 3.82 points, while on the other side FERTILIZER, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -104.84, -61.62 and -51.02 points respectively.
